Instead of disabling comments altogether or keeping them for manual review, you can temporarily pause comments until you have enough time to remove trolls and negativity. The Pause option can be discovered in the video-level comment settings in the upper-right corner of the comments panel, either on the app’s watch page or in YouTube Studio. When pause is enabled, the audience can see all comments as well as comments that have already been posted on the paused video.

YouTube has also rebranded some of its comment moderation settings as part of today’s announcement. New, simpler names could make it easier for users to do what devices are doing. For example, “On,” “None,” “Save All,” and off. ” Other settings are less explicit and add “Basic,” which comprises potentially irrelevant comments to review, and “Strict,” where a wider diversity of potentially destructive comments are put on hold.
