YouTube launches a copy machine of TikTok called ”Shorts” in India that allows users to create 15-second video clips

YouTube has announced the release of its competitor TikTok “Shorts”.

The service, first deployed in India, allows users to upload videos of up to 15 seconds that can be changed to platform creation tools, adding speed controls and a countdown.

Users will also need to access YouTube’s huge music library for their original content.

The features are known in the TikTok app, which has more than 800 million active users worldwide, but since then have been cloned via Instagram for its new reels, and now YouTube has joined as a copycat.

Shorts is being released for the first time in India and allows users to upload videos of up to 15 seconds that can be changed platform creation tools, adding speed controls and a countdown.

The short films will be available in the YouTube app and India is the first to access them, the company notes that it will be released in other countries in the coming months.

A ban has put TikTok at risk for months, as government officials, especially U. S. President Donald Trump, say implementation is a risk to national security.
