Google-owned YouTube removed more than 1. 1 million videos in India in the first 3 months of 2022, the highest figure in the world. YouTube also got rid of the content it sells with engagement metrics like views, likes, comments, or any other metrics on YouTube. This type of spam can also come with content whose sole purpose is to increase the number of subscribers, views, or other metrics. Comments whose sole purpose is to collect non-public audience data, deceptively divert the YouTube audience, or engage in any of the prohibited behaviors indexed above.

Between January and March 2022, YouTube removed more than 3. 8 million videos for violating the network’s guidelines. 91% of those videos were reported first through machines than humans. YouTube removed more than 943 million comments in the first quarter of 2022, most of which were spam. More than 99. 3% of deleted comments were automatically detected.

In the first quarter of 2022, more than 220,000 video deletions were appealed on YouTube and we reinstated more than 32,000.
