You want to move Chrome’s address bar to the bottom of your iPhone

Google Chrome on iOS has finally added one of Safari’s most productive features: the ability to move the address bar to the bottom of the screen. When you’re using a phone with a giant screen, it’s hard to pull off. The most sensitive part of the screen is typing the site call. If the tab bar is at the bottom, it’s much easier to access.

Safari added this feature two years ago with the release of iOS 15, and now Chrome has finally joined the club. However, this feature is rarely enabled by default, so you may not know it exists. But once you get used to it, keeping the URL in the back is much better.

First, update Google Chrome to the latest edition. At the time of writing, this is issue 119. 0. 6045. 109. You can go to the App Store and search for Google Chrome to check if you want an update.

Once the update is installed, open Google Chrome and press and hold the address bar at the top. Then, move the address bar down. This will take you to the most convenient address bar layout. This design also places the percentage icon in Chrome. , located to the right of the front bar, within easy reach.

You can also enable this feature by tapping the three-dot icon in the back-right corner of the screen, Settings > Address Bar. You can tap the Down option on this page and you’re good to go.

The Android edition of Chrome doesn’t seem to offer this option yet. Google briefly added this feature to Chrome’s experimental metrics, but that option has since been removed. This is surprising, since Google owns Chrome and Android, and yet it’s one of the most productive new browser features are absolutely absent on this platform. Of course, only Safari has a lower URL by default, but you’d think Google would at least be offering that option to Android users as well.
