AMD has announced two graphics cards to lead its new generation: the AMD RADEON RX 9070 XT and RX 9070. AMD is this generation of GPU to change the name of a little, which indicates that these GPUs are the same generation as AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3d. it is also a matter of bringing comparisons to Nvidia, with RX 9070 aimed at competing with Nvidia “middle range” cards of a similar brand, such as RTX 4070.
The RX 9070 XT is powered via the Zen Four architecture, with all new AI accelerators enabling an AI build on an AMD graphics card for the first time FSR Four, or Super Resolution FidelityFX (more on this topic below). However, as AMD hasn’t revealed the specs of those cards, I don’t know how much the improvement in DNA four will be offered on the AMD GPU like the Radeon RX 7900 XT.
AMD hasn’t revealed a precise release date for the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070, but it has caused it to arrive in the first quarter of 2025. Similarly, Team Red hasn’t disclosed the price, but with it objected to an NVIDIA XX70 GPU, it expected those graphics cards to charge between $499 and $599 every time and every time they come out.
Along with the new graphics cards, AMD has also announced FSR 4. Just like the PSSR, or Playstation Spectral Super Resolution, that Sony worked on with AMD to create for the PS5 Pro, this new upscaling method will be based on a machine learning algorithm. However, unlike PSSR, which runs its AI algorithm directly on the shading cores, FSR 4 will be utilizing specialized AI accelerators in RDNA 4, similar to how DLSS is handled on Nvidia graphics cards.
This deserve to particularly symbol quality and performance, thank you to Team Red in spite of everything employing the AI accelerators baked into every one computing unit. AMD also said that it has absolutely rebuilt its AI accelerators for this generation of cards, which is why it has waited so long to put in force an AI speaker that can compete with Xess and DLSS.
More importantly, this new upscaler finally marks a point where every GPU manufacturer has an AI upscaling solution. As long as developers continue to add all three upscalers to their games, which is becoming more common, this new generation of graphics cards might mark an end to Nvidia’s complete domination of any game with ray tracing enabled.
However, with AMD only announcing the RX 9070 and drawing comparisons to the GeForce RTX 4070, Team Red doesn’t seem to be punching for the top-end of the GPU market. Nvidia hasn’t showed its next-generation hand yet, but assuming that the GeForce RTX 5090 – or whatever it’s called – is significantly faster, AMD could just be leaving the super high end of the market for Nvidia, which is an approach that worked out well for Team Red in the RX 580 days.
With the Intel ARC B580 aimed at the budget market and those new AMD cards aimed at middle-diversity users, it’s refreshing to see two of the GPU brands competing in a diversity that other people can afford, rather than throwing incredibly harsh (and expensive) cards into the stratosphere for a few who can comfortably deposit some into a new GPU.
The new Intel card ended up being a great wonder when I reviewed it in December 2024. Possibly I would not know how these cards are made until I can take them to the laboratory for the tests, but I hope they supply an intelligent price for PC Gamers. It has been a while.

Mid-range for $500-$600…I don’t think I’m ever going to adjust to that.
