The next major Windows 11 update is expected to be delivered in the second part of the year and will bring a bunch of new AI features. . . assuming you have a Copilot-branded computer with a neural processing unit that provides at least 40 TOPS of AI performance.
But even if you don’t have a new computer, get new features when Windows 11 24H2 launches. And Microsoft is now making those features available to members of the Windows Insider program through the first edition of Windows 11, 24H2 edition for launch. Preview channel.

Microsoft says its Copilot AI app will also be pinned to the taskbar by default in Windows 11 24H2, allowing users to treat it like any other app (to resize, move, or employ window layout).
Windows Insiders in the Release Preview Channel can upgrade or perform a blank install starting today. Expect the solid version to be released to other people who haven’t signed up for Windows beta testers in the coming months.
