Will Apple release new iPads in 2023? Here’s what the rumors say.

Apple launches new iPads in the fall, but there is growing skepticism that this will happen in 2023. It’s now November, and if Apple is making plans to launch new iPads this year, time is running out. This is what the latest rumors say.

It’s been over a year since Apple released a new iPad, with the newest being the two updated iPad Pro models and the newest budget iPad, all of which launched in October 2022. True to the most recent tradition, the new models are already far behind.

In the past, when Apple celebrated an occasion in the fall, it would release new Macs and iPads, but that didn’t happen this year. Apple’s “Scary Fast” event on October 30 was aimed exclusively at Macs, with Apple announcing an updated 24-inch iMac with M3 technology, as well as new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M3-series chips.

In an article analyzing the stagnation of global demand for pills in the second half of 2023, Taiwan-based DigiTimes said investors expect Apple’s share of the pill market to increase due to orders for a “small” iPad in the fourth quarter. Additionally, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported earlier this year that an iPad mini update with a slight “spec tweak” wasn’t out of the question.

In August, the leaker known as “ShrimpApplePro” also reported that Apple was working on a seventh-generation iPad mini and said it had noticed evidence that at least one new style of iPad would arrive this year.

According to a recent report from 9to5Mac, Apple is running two new versions of the iPad Air 6. The site claims that Apple has 4 different models in the works (two for cellular and two for Wi-Fi).

Apple offers two editions of the iPad Pro because it’s available in two sizes, and 9to5Mac speculates that Apple could release a larger edition of the iPad Air to go alongside the existing 10. 9-inch edition, or release “a larger version. ” beloved style with better specs. ” The outlet claims that its feature, the iPad mini 7, will arrive “soon,” but the report also claims that all the new iPads will be announced “before WWDC 2024 in June,” which is a wide window.

MacRumors discovered in October that an Apple supplier had resubmitted a battery dossier for a sixth-generation iPad mini to a Chinese regulatory database last week and speculated about the option of a seventh-generation iPad mini with the same battery announced at Apple’s “Scary Fast” event. “Event. . . While that didn’t happen, it could theoretically launch later this year.

Apple last updated the iPad Air in March 2022 with the M1 chip. If the iPad Air was updated with an M2 or M3 chip a year after the iPad Pro, it would have already happened in October. A 2024 release is now more likely. A report out of Asia in October claimed that Apple was running a larger variant of the 12. 9-inch iPad Air, but there is confusion surrounding this report and the rumor has not been corroborated by other sources.

Apple, in its August earnings call, warned that iPad earnings are expected to fall into double digits, suggesting that it doesn’t expect to have any products to appeal to consumers during the holiday quarter beyond the recently introduced iPhone 15 series, new Apple Watch models, and new M3-series Macs.

This is in line with some rumors, which imply that major new iPad launches aren’t expected until 2024. In January, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the next iPad mini would likely go into mass production in the first quarter of 2024. More recently, Kuo said he doesn’t expect any new iPad models this year. Similarly, several rumors suggest that iPad Pro models with OLED presentations and M3 chips may not arrive until 2024.

To sum up, in theory we can still see at least one iPad unveiled this year via a press release, perhaps in the form of iPad mini, iPad Air, or cheap 11th Gen iPad, but these will most likely be minor updates. It’s moderate that at least one or two of these models will be updated in early November, but as winter approaches and “rumours against it” multiply, the new iPads of 2023 seem unlikely.
