EVOO, Walmart’s-owned laptop brand, is recently promoting a small device for anyone looking to buy a low-budget laptop.
It is a 2-in-1 convertible machine, which means it can be converted from a computer into a pickup and vice versa. It also comes with a one-year subscription to Microsoft 365 (formerly Workplace 365) worth $70. Not bad for a computer that costs only $150 (about £120) and that also means getting 1TB of cloud storage via OneDrive.
The biggest challenge with the device is that it only has 32 GB of formula storage, part of which is already occupied through the Windows 10 operational formula, leaving only a fraction for everything else. You can still load apps into a giant microSD card and DIY fans may need to verify a lightweight Linux or Chrome OS distribution.
The device has an 11.6-inch Full HD touch screen that, according to the description, is configured via THX.
Connectivity features come with a 2-megapixel webcam (located on the hinge), a mini-HDMI port, two USB ports, and a microSD card slot. Remember that the keyboard is much smaller than your old 13.3-inch or 14-inch laptop.
There are also some unknowns, which is a little alarming. For example, Walmart does not say which processor the device is using, other than that it is a dual-core Intel processor. Presumably it’s the Intel Celeron N3350, which has a TDP and a low base clock speed.
It’s also hard to tell if there’s an M2 location of your choice that allows you to load a more resilient garage component (such as an SSD).
