Watch live at 11am: Duggan will announce plans for the former state fairgrounds in Detroit

Mayor Mike Duggan is expected to announce the proposed 142-acre sale to the former Detroit State Fairgrounds at a Tuesday morning news convention at Detroit Public Safety Headquarters.

The sale can lead to asset remodeling and potentially create 1,200 new jobs on the site, according to a Detroit city press release.

Councilman Roy McCalister, Workforce Development Executive Director Nicole Sherard Freeman, national and local progress partners and local citizens are expected to register in Duggan at the press conference.
