For her 55th birthday on Tuesday, actress Viola Davis proudly shared a photo of the now-ruined house on a South Carolina plantation where she was born.
“The one above is the space where I was born on August 11, 1965,” the Oscar winner wrote on Instagram. “This is the cradle of my story. Today, in the case of my 55th year of lifeArray … I own itArray … All of this.
He also quoted a birth blessing from Cherokee: “Have enough time to know why you were born.”
Davis had to explain his comments after other people’s idea that he said he had bought the house.
