Viasat partners with American Express to help COVID-19 small businesses; Cody Catalena quoted

Viasat has partnered with American Express and other corporations as a component of the Stand For Small program to help millions of small businesses in the COVID-19 pandemic, Viasat reported Monday.

“Our purpose is for small businesses to thrive in their communities by enabling them to stay online reliably and connected to customers, partners and prospects,” said Cody Catalena, Vice President of Viasat and General Manager of Global Business Solutions.

The Stand for Small initiative will provide help and access to essential business services, offerings, tools, expertise and benefits through a centralized virtual platform. Resources will help small businesses deal with the COVID-19 crisis and recovery efforts.

The Viasat partnership will also help commercial homeowners reduce operating expenses, manage remote groups, and virtual capabilities. Viasat will provide discounted satellite enterprise Internet services to new consumers of small U.S. companies.

The company’s professional Internet service covers 96% of the U.S. population. And it offers a variety of unlimited and measured knowledge plans with download speeds of up to one hundred Mbps.

Viasat has also implemented a number of projects to help small American businesses stay connected to the COVID-19 crisis, adding grants to help make their businesses more resilient and the FCC’s Keep Americans Connected program.

The company also optimized its satellite communication netpaintings as corporations turned to home painting environments, prioritizing real-time communication programs, garage netpaintings, and other critical online tools.

“We are proud to participate in the Stand for Small Effort, joining American Express and other leading companies to help and adapt those challenging times,” Catalena added.
