Unsolved Blair Case on PSP Tips

A Blair County case is among the unsolved crimes featured on the state police’s PSP tips, a new way for the public to share data similar to ongoing investigations, bloodless cases, arrests of wanted people or the whereabouts of missing persons.

“The public’s assistance is critical to solving crimes or locating missing or wanted persons,” said Lt. Col. George Bivens, deputy commissioner of operations.

PSP Tips is available on Facebook and X, formerly known as Twitter. Each site provides a toll-free phone number, 1-800-4PA-TIPS (1-800-472-8477) and a link to an online tip. submission form, https://www. p3tips. com/tipform. aspx ?ID=107.

“Social media platform forms, the toll-free number, and the online whistleblower form are simple tactics to send us information that can solve a case or get a harmful person off the streets,” Biren said.

PSP Tips includes data on approximately 100 homicides, missing persons, and other unsolved crimes. New cases will be added frequently.

The cases presented include the 1973 murder of an 8-year-old woman in Greene County, the 1977 unsolved murder of a Blair County school standout student, the 1981 disappearance of a Lackawanna County teenager and the search for Susan Reinert’s children. A county instructor was found murdered near Harrisburg in 1979.

State police said the data provided through the public could provide investigators with a long-awaited breakthrough that will nonetheless turn the page and bring justice to the victims’ families.

All data sent to PSP Tips can be anonymized, if desired.
