GatesAir has introduced a couple of new IP inventions from Intraplex IP Link Audio IP that, according to the company, are evolving the logo into new designs and applications.
The IP Link 100e is the first modular plug-in card in the Intraplex Family Circle designed for integration into radio transmitters, while the IP Link 100c is a new compact hardware codec designed for remote contribution and popular STL IP connections.
GatesAir will offer either on its microsite at the IBC Showcase virtual event, which will take place from September 8-11.
The IP Link 100e is specially designed to get virtual radio and FM content directly on GatesAir Flexiva transmitters. The module is added to Flexiva FAX exciters to reliably obtain and send AES67 and other forms of IP audio directly to the exciter. The smaller built-in form reduces the load of sending Intraplex audio over IP at the transmitter site, as a separate hardware codec is not required, and releases a 1RU device rack slot for the auxiliary device.
The module maintains all features related to IP Link codecs. In addition to gatesAir’s classic connectivity, the IP Link 100e integrates GatesAir’s first DSS (Dynamic Stream Splicing) software into the module.DSS software sends the same flows over the same network or two separate routes, and each flow borrows knowledge of other important flows to avoid service interruptions due to packet loss. The IP Link 100e also supports SRT (Reliable and Secure Transport) protocol and provides a switching service to Icecast or locally stored audio for optimal reliability. The module also provides garage for program content and full duplex capability, allowing engineers to monitor out-of-air signals.
“The Intraplex team is looking for new, cutting-edge tactics to integrate IP audio delivery into existing networks and infrastructure, as demonstrated last year with our Ascent solution,” said Ted Lantz, vice president and general manager of radio and Intraplex products at GatesAir..” The IP Link 100e optimizes overall ownership load by leveraging the same reliable IP Link and connecting it in a Flexiva module. The module establishes a foundation for integrating audio processing and other air chain programs into long-term generations, setting us on the path to a true all-in-one platform.
The IP Link 100c also adopts a cost-cutting strategy within a hardware codec.GatesAir has halved the form to provide greater service to portable applications, offering ideal half-rack space for studio-to-studio and remote transmission applications. The design includes a DC power, allowing stations to temporarily connect and stream program audio for sports contributions, live remote controls, and news coverage, for example.
The IP Link 100c is also suitable for the STL service, especially as an affordable backup for major STL connections, or for delivery to Icecast streaming servers. As with the IP Link 100e, this codec incorporates popular Intraplex features such as Dynamic Stream Splicing software, SRT protocol and 3 separate network ports.
