Twitter v2 API tries to bridge the gap between corporate and third-party developers

Twitter is one of the most popular social media platforms. Despite its long success in the community, the company has imposed restrictions on third-party developers who need to access website data. To facilitate relationships between third-party developers and the company, they announced last month the new API that would provide a way to access and modify the site’s features. It was only after a day of announcement that the site faced one of the worst hacks in social media history, so the company made the decision to delay the launch.

Today, they introduced the V2 API that tries to close the gap between developers and the company. Depending on the starting point, it provides access to threads, profile-pinned Tweets, Tweet survey effects, and spam filtering. This is the first Twitter API update since 2012. Prior to the release, third-party developers had limited features, and Twitter even tried to monopolize its features by blocking developers’ access to new features.

The new API turns out to be Twitter’s brilliant, smooth story, but it has its reservations. There are 3 degrees of access that the API grants developers. First, only the fundamental point comes out today. This limits the frequency of API calls that a developer can make and does not require developers to pay for Array The next point, called a “high” point, removes the restriction on the number of times a developer calls the API, but will charge users. Finally, there is a “custom” point that, as the call suggests, would only supplement the wishes of the visitor and whose value will be set accordingly. The value design has not yet been announced via Twitter.

Twitter is positive with the launch of the API, and the company emphasizes that it is a painting in progress, emphasizing that it may evolve in the future. It argues that the fundamental point can cover 80% of customers’ needs.
