Twitter permanently suspended the account of a very sensible British rapper on Wednesday and apologized for his first slow reaction to his series of anti-Semitic messages released last week.
The social media giant, in addition to sharing photos on Instagram, banned dirt artist Wiley from their platforms on Friday for seven days after sending previous messages on the day.
But some messages remained visible for hours, prompting complaints in Britain and prompting politicians, celebrities and other prominent figures to launch a 48-hour boycott of Twitter on Monday.
“After further investigation, our groups have permanently suspended the account in a consultation for repeated violations of our hateful conduct policy,” Twitter said Wednesday.
“Let us be clear: hateful behavior has no place in our service and we strongly condemn anti-Semitism.
“We regret that we have moved faster and continue to evaluate the stage internally.”
Facebook and Instagram announced tuesday that they banned Wiley, the level of decision of Richard Cowie, a pioneer of the UK’s popular dirty music scene.

British police said they were investigating their statements on social media accounts.
The Anti-Semitism Campaign welcomed the announcement that Twitter “finally heard” but the action “too little, too late.”
“This is at least a start for this deeply irresponsible social network,” the organization added.
