Twitter apologizes for postponing The Babylon Bee account

“Your account, TheBathroughlonBee has been suspended for violating Twitter regulations. Specifically by: breaking our regulations that oppose platform manipulation and spam,” Twitter wrote in an email posted through Mann. “You can’t use Twitter in a way that artificially amplifies or deletes data or adopts a habit that manipulates or disrupts people’s Twitter experience.”

The suspension sparked a primary protest among conservatives who introduced a crusade #FreeTheBee on Twitter.

Less than an hour later, the bee’s bill was reset.

CEO Seth Dillon posted an email on Twitter about the “mistake” he had made.

“We wrote to inform you that we have suspended your account. We are sorry for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing you again soon on Twitter,” Twitter wrote. “We have systems that locate and delete massive automated spam accounts, and yours has been marked as spam by mistake. Note that it may take about an hour for your subscriber and the following numbers to return to normal.”

A Twitter spokesperson told Fox News: “This account was mistakenly stuck in a spam filter. This was canceled and the account was reset.”

The Babylon Bee, which is considered a conservative option for “The Onion,” was founded in 2016. She describes herself as “Christian News Satire” and is known for ridiculing Democratic politicians and the liberal media.

Earlier this year, The Bee laughed at CNN’s expense after one of its experts accused the media of disseminating misinformation.

“CNN attacks Babylon Bee: ‘Internet is enough for a fake news site,'” the bee’s title says.
