For all fantasy sports enthusiasts, do you ever get an idea of the emails you receive from your leagues at the end of each week with articles about your team’s performance? If you think someone is sitting there manually sorting their knowledge and writing each one, think again. That would be a feat.
All of this is imaginable by using Natural Language Generation (NLG) to create a descriptive narrative around knowledge and tell the story in an easy-to-digest format. NLG uses synthetic intelligence to reshape structured knowledge into a non-unusual language for speaking data and knowledge data, exponentially faster than through human analysis. Using NLG also eliminates human error from the equation, adding a point of certainty to the analysis.
“Technology hasn’t been necessary to get the full price of the knowledge we have,” said Sharon Daniels, CEO of Arria. “We generate so much knowledge, but as long as you don’t have accurate written summaries, whether through human analysts or generation, you won’t get the data at the right time. In many cases, through the time you get them, if you can perceive everything, it’s old.”
Arria has been incorporated into the most productive BI dashboards to simplify deployment, but knowledge can come from anywhere, adding traditional platforms or Internet applications. NLG generation is above where knowledge is telling the same story that is provided graphically in an easy-to-use format.
What’s even more exciting and will expand Arria’s NLG features to a much wider audience is its new integration with Excel. Now, all knowledge hosted in Excel knowledge bases can also be analyzed through Arria to produce a taleArray. This means that any company that has knowledge of points of sale in Excel’s knowledge bases can use NLG to tell its story, providing what would possibly have been a business solution for all companies.
Companies have no challenge in collecting knowledge. They find it hard to create history from their knowledge. Having already controlled the surveys for a monetary publication, I can attest to the time it takes to analyze knowledge and put it in a digestible format. With Arria NLG, it would have been easy to map knowledge to use in the output and generate a report with a single click. What took days or weeks would have been completed in seconds.
Daniels recalls having compared the generation internally to a member of the finance team, whose initial reaction was, “Well, that’s my job.” But he learned temporarily that writing the report is the component of the task that money analysts, accountants and others don’t like the most, and generating NLG would allow them to spend more time calculating numbers and not having to worry about writing reports on time. “It’s going to make me look like a star, ” he concluded.
With regard to knowledge-based reporting, i.e. monetary reports, one of the most demanding situations is the evolution of knowledge. Inevitably, some knowledge issues are replaced at the last minute, which requires rewriting a full report and re-checking each number to account for the new singles knowledge point. With Arria, the report can be re-executed immediately to reflect the replacement knowing that all other knowledge affected has also been as reflected.
The Arria API library extends generation to countless usage instances and programs across all sectors, and its library predefines many non-unusual analytical purposes (trends, correlations, deviations, etc.). The transformation of knowledge into a narrative can be done directly from the box.
For a very timely example of how Arria’s NLG is helping to provide existing information, take a look at the COVID-19 map mapping in which Arria worked with Microsoft using knowledge from Johns Hopkins University. By clicking on any country, the site will generate a story about the prestige of COVID-19 in that country or region. You can also explore the various states of the United States to see stories not only about those states, but also about a county-level breakdown. You can also click to see the tables used to generate the story, if desired.
But what excited Daniels was the prospect of turning the way we interacted with knowledge and making it much more human with conversational AI. With its Arria Answers product, the company combines all other herbal language technologies. Arria Answers is a conversational artificial intelligence platform that integrates with BI or Amazon Alexa dashboards so you can ask a question to your knowledge.
The great advance that Daniels says will attract attention is the true drilling capacity of multiple towers, which she said has been able to produce before.
“You can ask Alexa a question, but it’s a very complicated search engine,” he says. “We laugh at this, but we can also get frustrated when Alexa doesn’t find the answer or gives a silly answer.”
Not that data is rarely available. On the contrary, Alexa doesn’t perceive what to do with it or how to locate it. In fact, most of the time, the data should be obtained: Alexa simply has not been able to access or interpret it without any problems without several iterations of questions. Arria Answers is turning that.
“What Arria is doing is turning this data into a language that can be said through Alexa. Because we have multi-shift scanning capabilities in our complex NLG reports, we can use those human-like voice interaction features for the experience.
Multi-shift exploration is helping to create contextual continuity and virtual interactions in more humane experiences. For now, Arria Answers doesn’t forget what she said, allowing you to reference the tags in a previous query and don’t forget where you are with your data, eliminating the desire to repeat queries. This ability means that users only want to specify the new or applicable component of a query or request, and Arria will automatically populate the unspecified items.
For example, if you ask Alexa to tell you what your investment portfolio looks like today, she can tell you. But then you can ask, “How was yesterday?” or “What caused the change?” and Arria will be the context of the conversation, as if you were talking to your monetary adviser.
Arria’s NLG generation is fully aimed at explainable artificial intelligence and knowledge storytelling. Today’s companies gather so much knowledge, it can be valuable, if they were able not only to analyze and analyze it, but also to make it an easy-to-understand format. The NLG not only eliminates this load, but also makes this understandable format available in seconds, so that the data is well synchronized and applicable and in the hands of users whenever they want. With Arria Answers, those same stories can now also be told verbally.
