(MENAFN) Turkish Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu recently visited the SpaceX production and launch facility in Brownsville, Texas, during his vacation in the United States for the launch rite of the first Turkish communications satellite built in the country, Turksat 6A. According to a statement from the ministry, Minister Uraloglu visited various key areas of SpaceX facilities and obtained complete data on its operations. Minister Uraloglu praised SpaceX’s amenities as a convergence of cutting-edge technology, technical prowess and committed work. Specifically, he highlighted the production and launch functions of SpaceX’s Starship rocket, highlighting its plans for frequent, potentially weekly, launches from the same location. The integrated nature of production and release facilities at a single site was highlighted as very important for effective operations. In addition, Uraloglu shared what he learned during his visit and mentioned SpaceX’s ambitious goal of launching up to 60 satellites into low orbit using the Starship rocket from Brownsville. He also celebrated the recent successful launch of the Turkish satellite Turksat 6A aboard a Falcon nine rocket from SpaceX’s Cape Canaveral facility in Florida on July 9. Turksat 6A, Turkey’s first geostationary communications satellite, is a significant achievement developed in collaboration with the Turkish company Space Technologies.
