In a clear example of the unimportance of preseason games, the Bears played 3-0 in the preseason last year before completing with the worst record in the NFL (3-14). Still, those plays are when it comes to roster formation and that’s especially true for the Bears, who turned the first pick into a crowd of new players in an effort to build a new base.
“We’ll have decided which starters will play here and there, and then we’ll figure it out on the fly,” Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said, also confirming that starting quarterback Justin Fields will be among them.
What would you like to see Eberflus and your company from your third-year QB in the offseason?
“I would just say that when you take a look at the quarterback position, you know, Operation No. 1. Can we get in and out of the network caucus and run the game if we have a run to pass or a pass to pass, run?to execute the things that are happening,” Eberflus said. “We want to make sure we see this. Can they make all the coverage calls they want?Make adjustments. Only the operation. That’s what we’re here for.
Four players to watch on the Chicago side come with rookie running back Roschon Johnson, rookie rookie Tyler Scott and the team’s first-round pick, offensive lineman Darnell Wright.
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel did not say whether second-year quarterback Malik Willis would start the game. One thing Vrabel made known: He’s giving defensive line coach Terrell Williams a chance to be the Titans’ interim boss. Coach for the whole game.
“I had that in mind months ago,” Williams said of Vrabel. Coach, there you have it. ” I hope more groups will stick together and do this, just to have the guys having fun.
Since the 2017 season, those two groups have met five times during the preseason. The Bears have the advantage in those games, 2-1-1.
