On Sunday, Tiktok returned to the United States after President -elect Donald J. Trump said he issued an executive order to block a federal prohibition of the application.
The brutal replacement occurred only a few hours after the retail points of the branch store eliminated the popular social media site and stopped operating for US users, because a federal law entered into force on Sunday. The company declared in an article on X that, in “agreement with our service providers, Tiktok restoring the service. “
Mr. Trump said in a Sunday morning post on Truth Social that he would “issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period of time before the law’s prohibitions take effect, so that we can make a deal to protect our national security.”
The ban stems from a 2024 law that requires app retailers and cloud computing providers to prevent distribution or Tiktok unless it is sold through its Chinese parent company, Bytedance. Lawmakers have followed the law on the consideration that the Chinese government can use the app, which claims roughly 170 million users in the United States, to collect data on Americans or propaganda.
Application retail points and cloud computer suppliers that are not of good reputation through the law are potentially monetary sanctions. Trump said in his publication on Sunday that his order “would verify that there would be no duty for any company that helped Tiktok position the dark before my order. “
The option of an executive order, followed by the very good face of Tiktok, marks a new phase in the combat opposite to the long run of the app, which has reshaped the social media landscape, explained popular culture and created millions of influencers and small small businesses that rely on the platform.
