Apple Intelligence is in its early stages, but it’s already leading to big changes in Apple hardware such as increased RAM and chip upgrades. Now, a new rumor indicates another key hardware change is coming to the full iPhone 17 lineup that will help with AI.
Chinese Tech Mydrivers has shared a new rumor that says Apple plans to update its full iPhone 17 lineup with new hardware for warmth dissipation (via MacRumors).
Here’s a Google Translate excerpt of the relevant portion:
According to the most recent news in the industry chain, for the functional of the iPhone’s warmth, Apple will load warm -rate dissipation devices to the iPhone 17 series, and all models will be supplied with thermal dissipators VC [camera vapor ] for warmth dissipation.
We had heard previously via Ming-Chi Kuo that the iPhone 17 Pro Max would adopt a special vapor chamber plus graphite cooling sheet system.
Essentially, this would take the graphite cooling tech already used in iPhones and pair it with a vapor chamber.
Kuo said at the time that other iPhone 17 models would be retained as the existing graphite sheet approaches.
It should be noted that Mydrivers does not have much history with Apple’s rumors, so take this appointment with an adequate point of skepticism. Especially since Ming-Chi Kuo shared any other summer last summer.
That said, Apple bringing changes to the cooling system in iPhones makes a lot of sense. Apple Intelligence features are only expected to grow tremendously in the years ahead. Thus, cooling could be a concern for iPhone 17 models and beyond.
Nor is it out of the consultation that Apple has replaced its iPhone 17 plans since the Kuo August report. So, while Mydrivers possibly do not have Kuo’s history, I would not be surprised to see that this rumor is true.
What replaces this on the iPhone 17 of the rumor? Let us know in the comments.
