Apple’s next iPhone 12 is expected to offer a new 5.4-inch small form factor, according to sources in Taiwan’s source chain.The new 5.4-inch device will be smaller than any flagship iPhone released in the last two years.
According to a DigiTimes report funded through source chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will launch a 5.4-inch iPhone 12 with Samsung Display’s Y-Octa touch generation.Y-Octa is a complex and flexible AMOLED that demonstrates the generation that the film substrate and allows the touch circuit to be modeled directly on the film’s encapsulation layer, which makes the screen thinner and more cost-effective.
It is not known whether the thinner demo generation will result in thinner iPhones in general.Last year’s iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max were a little thicker and heavier than their predecessors, as Apple added larger batteries.
Rumors about the fact that the smaller 5.4-inch iPhone 12 will have a reduced notch are in conflict, some suggest that the device will have a smaller notch and others indicate that it will be the same as previous generations.
