Last week’s CES 2024 saw a slew of next-gen product announcements and reveals, adding a slew of new PC peripherals and the debut of Nvidia’s Super 40-series GPUs. Not everything worth showcasing at CES is that exciting, and some things left me a little more inspired than others.
Now that the dust from the screens has settled over the year and to celebrate some of the best PC tech unveiled at CES 2024, let’s take a look at 3 of my favorite announcements.
Right now, gaming platforms have been the go-to choice for PC gamers for years, but that’s been slowly being replaced as more and more smaller versions hit the market. One of the best gaming PCs to appear at CES 2024 this year is the ROG. NUC.
This small case is a mini PC that comes with a choice of Intel Core Ultra 9, Core Ultra 7, and an Nvidia RTX 4060 or 4070 GPU. You can also set it up with up to 32GB of RAM, which can upgrade your giant game. Equipment with a forged device that takes up a fraction of the space.
Of course, I can’t talk about the wonderful PC products at CES without mentioning the launch of the new Nvidia RTX 40 Super series GPUs. These next-gen GPUs will provide minor innovations over the original 4070, 4070 Ti, and 4080 cards, but they come at a much higher price. The new RTX 4070 super improves on Nvidia’s already perfect mid-range GPU option while also offering a similar price tag.
ASUS hasn’t stopped at a new ROG gaming PC option. The company also seeks to make life much less difficult for PC creators, whether professionals or beginners, thanks to its BTF (Back to the Future) component ecosystem. It includes particular cabinets, motherboards, and even graphics cards designed to make cable control easier by allowing you to hide cables on the motherboard instead of in front of it.
It’s an intriguing formula that I’m excited about when it comes to building a new PC with those components, and I can’t wait to see what ASUS does with the eco-friendly BTF formula in the future.
There were tons of other interesting and/or quirky things on display at CES 2024, including the MSI Claw and the upcoming HP Transcend 32. The latter brings an impressive demo and KVM to your desk on a giant 32-inch monitor, and while I possibly won’t go into too much detail about Claw here, however, Lifehacker editor Pranay Parab talks about it more intensely in his consultant on the coolest and weirdest gaming rigs we’ve seen at CES 2024.
