I’m afraid it’s not the golden age for maximum productivity graphics card offerings. As this generation comes to an end and the world eagerly awaits the next generation of Nvidia and AMD GPUs, costs are predictably dropping. Full-capacity GPUs are still prohibitively expensive for the most part, even if they’re about to be replaced by bigger things.
The newest graphics cards on the horizon are the RTX 50 series, led by the RTX 5090, and AMD’s RX 9070 series, led by the RX 9070 XT. You may have noticed that AMD opted for an ultra-high-end graphics card in its 9070 series, rather than letting Nvidia dominate with its new AI-supercharged cards.
All this speaks to new cards, but what about the existing generation’s offerings?These new cards make it difficult to present to much of the existing generation, even at pretty decent discounts. The RTX 5070 would claim the functionality of the RTX 4090, but admittedly it benefits from DLSS. Still, you might feel like a goose among swans if you buy a new RTX 40 series with the logo right before the RTX 50 series arrives.
Nevertheless, the budget market isn’t going to budge anytime soon. And if you need a graphics card immediately, what can you do but hope for a decent deal on one? We’ve worked the angles and below are the best prices on every current graphics card we think you ought to consider upgrading your gaming PC with.

Faster than the RTX 3060, but the price suggests it’s been better. However, you get the full DLSS 3. 5 suite, and it’s smart enough to encode videos for streaming. Still, we prefer AMD’s RX 7600 or the last-gen RX 6700.

This sometimes affects higher frame rates in games, although it depends on what you’re playing. It’s worth a look, especially for all that fast VRAM. Stock is very low currently, but it is still imaginable to find one at a very smart price.

This small twin-fan model should still run cool and quiet and deliver a lot of gaming performance in a super-efficient fashion.

The best thing about the XFX, with its triple-fan set, is that it runs quieter than the average RX 7900 XT. We can also all get advantages from a little less noise from our PCs.

When we don’t have reference numbers for an older card, we use the average index score from the UL database. These numbers correspond to an aggregate frame rate score of 1440p from our benchmark suite.
