The $5 Orange Pi 5 Max is a Raspberry Pi option with 6 TOP NPUs and up to 16GB of RAM.

The Orange Pi 5 Max is powered by the Rockchip RK3five88 SoC that comes with an octa-core processor comprising four functional Cortex-A76 cores running up to 2. 4 GHz and four power Cortex-Afivefive cores running up to 1Array8 GHz. This is a noticeable improvement over the Orange Pi five Pro that shipped with the Rockchip RK3five88S.

The new chip integrates an Arm Mali-G610 MP4 “Odin” GPU that supports OpenGLES 1. 1, 2. 0 and 3. 2, OpenCL up to 2. 2 and Vulkan1. 2. There is also an NPU that provides 6 TOPS of AI performance, for on-device learning and AI workloads.

The Orange Pi 5 Max is available with 4, 8 or 16 GB of LPDDR5 memory, as well as an optional eMMC storage module. The device also has an M. 2 NVMe slot that supports the maximum of PCIe NVMe SSDs. In addition, there is a microSD card slot that can be used for mass storage.
