Wait, we’re going back to the last frontier. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is the new spin-off of Star Trek, only this one takes a position in the decade before the original series. Climb aboard the USS Enterprise with Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount), Spock (Ethan Peck) and many more. as they travel to the “strange new worlds” discovered in the galaxy.

Netflix’s adaptation of Michael Connelly’s The Lincoln Lawyer topped the streaming service’s “most-watched” list when it premiered. The legal mystery stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, a Los Angeles lawyer who does business from the back of his Lincoln Town Car.

One of the many genuine crimes on this list, Hulu’s Candy follows a genuine homicide case. Jessica Biel plays Candy Montgomery, who has been accused of murdering her friend Betty Gore (Melanie Lynskey) by punching her 41 times.

The ladder continues the genuine trend of crime on this list. Revisit the well-documented murder of Kathleen Peterson (Toni Collette) by her husband, novelist Michael Peterson (Colin Firth). Depicting scenes from the circle of family life with the Petersons before Kathleen’s death at the trial and its sequels, the animated theme and stellar cast of The Staircase introduced it to the list of maximum seen.
What we think: calling The Staircase a “true crime classic” is, as it should be, describing the general dehumanization procedure that each and every genuine user connected to this horrific death has suffered during its decades in the public eye. But hbo Max’s dramatization seems like the last level of this device to exploit tragedy. Not only does this reduce Kathleen, Michael, and their children (one of whom is played by Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner) into literal fictional characters for our entertainment consumption, but it even adds colorful new features like genuine prosecutor Freda Black (played through the inimitable Parker Posey). — Jess Joho, cultural journalist

The killer duo of Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder) is back in SEASON 2 of HBO Max’s Hacks. This season takes the two comedians on Deborah’s new tour, where she wrestles with more non-public material. In addition to the tour, Ava is concerned about a very incendiary email she sent at the end of Season 1, which could completely ruin her relationship with Deborah.
What we think: Deborah’s inability to gain momentum during her excursion means that the first few episodes may be going on a little slower than expected. But don’t hesitate for a minute that Hacks has lost its magic. Deborah and Ava’s jokes and interactions are passlden. . . If you missed Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), you’re obviously not alone. The Breaking Bad prequel, now in its sixth and final season, remains one of the most watched performances of the week. Odenkirk, Rhea Seehorn and Jonathan Banks are still excellent, as are the rest of the cast. In addition, Breaking Bad stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are shown to appear this season, so it looks like the gang is getting back together.

Claire Danes and Tom Hiddleston reunite at Apple TV’s The Essex Serpent, based on the novel by Sarah Perry. Widow Cora (Danish) moves to Essex to investigate sightings of a mysterious sea snake. There, she befriends Reverend Will Ransome (Hiddleston) in his way of realizing the reality about the beast. An atmospheric gothic romance with a cast of actors, it’s no wonder That The Essex Serpent is one of the most watched TV shows of the week.

Another real detective miniseries, this one in Jon Krakauer’s nonfiction e-book, Under the Banner of Heaven stars Andrew Garfield in his first foray into prestige television. Garfield plays Jeb Pyre, a detective investigating the murder of a mother (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and her baby that may have worried the Mormon Church.
