Tesla owner Jamil Jutha had owned his Model Y for 8 months before it caught fire on Friday and shortly left inside, according to a CTV News report published yesterday.
Jutha driving in Vancouver that morning when the car shut down completely and lost all power.
“The doors weren’t opening,” Jutha told the British Columbia-based media outlet. “The windows were coming down. “
The car began to smoke, spilling through the vents into the cabin. Naturally, Jutha panicked and said that she broke a window to escape. The guy said he panicked and immediately called 911 for help. While waiting for his arrival, local structure staff at a nearby site safely directed traffic around the guy’s burning car.
“We are very fortunate that this user had the strength and strength to kick the window,” Fire Chief Brian Hutchinson of North Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services told CTV.
An anonymous Twitter user captured a symbol of the moment that has since gone viral, with warm orange flames popping from the hood and cockpit of the car.
“Neat functionality,” he joked.
I saw a @Tesla catch fire this morning. As soon as he smoked, the electric formula was blocked, trapping the guy inside. Fortunately, the staff of the structure broke the window so that he could escape. Interesting feature pic. twitter. com/9OHoP9mWbe

The crash is under investigation and firefighters are looking to find out precisely what was with the car, and Tesla has not responded to CTV’s request for comment.
Jutha, however, says the emergency protocol for opening the door in the event of a forced cut is intuitive and encourages other Tesla owners to familiarize themselves with what they should do if the same thing happens to them. CTV claims that the entire door signal is a lever that rises in case of emergency, and a Twitter user noted that a video on how to use it is about ten minutes long.
This is rarely the first time Tesla cars have been affected by serious injuries or make outrageous decisions without a driver, but we are convinced that the man is safe.
