Teen arrested for spreading news from Twitter.

A 16-year-old high-level student arrested for spreading a false message about the reimportation of blockade restrictions induced by coronavirus disease (Covid-19) for seven days from Friday in Tripura via a Twitter account, which is the same as that of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar. Verified account of the Deb microblog site.

The detainee lives in Dhaleswar in Agartala. He tweeted a fake message on Twitter that the state government has announced re-filing the blocking restrictions, starting Friday over the next seven days in an effort to involve the spread of the viral epidemic.

“Faced with the pandemic scenario, the Government of Tripura has to announce a seven-day lockdown from Friday, July 24,” the teenager tweeted on Tuesday, posing as CM Deb.

However, the police were able to locate the wandering teenager and he confessed to his crime being interrogated.

“The boy was arrested at his home on Tuesday. He was sent to a juvenile detention centre because he is underage,” said Kishore Bhattacharya, head of the eastern Agartala police station.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) declared Twitter’s nickname false, like the message.

Tripura police have suggested to the public that they interact in social media rumors about the re-importation of land-closing restrictions or other news similar to the viral epidemic and has warned them to oppose harsh actions opposing rumors.
