Sidney Almeida, 42, caught the attention of police in February 2018 when his IP continued to upload six indecent photographs of young people on the Internet from his home in Orton Goldhay, Peterborough.

An apprehension order was executed on the front and gadgets were seized, adding a hard drive and a laptop.

The devices were tested and were found to include a total of 1,053 indecent photographs of children. This included 504 Category C, 232 Class B and 317 Class A, the highest severity.

Subsequent investigations revealed that Almeida had also installed a hidden camera in her bathroom and photographed visitors to her home while on the premises.

Almeida charged with two counts of voyeism and three counts of indecently shooting children.

In an interview with the police, he denied the bathroom camera for his own sexual pleasure, but instead insisted that he had done so out of “curiosity.”

He claimed to have won indecent photographs of young people on a chat site, however, he told police because he thought he would “get in trouble.”

Almeida, from Cotswolds Gardens, London, pleaded guilty to all five offences at a previous hearing and was convicted by the Peterborough Crown Court (10 August).

He gave a one-year suspended criminal sentence for two years. He also sentenced him to 80 hours of unpaid paintings and a mandatory rehabilitation activity of 35 days.

Almeida also ordered the Sex Offenders Registry to be listed for 10 years and subject to a Sexual Assault Prevention Order (SHPO) for the same duration.

Detective Sergeant Gavin Sylvester said: “Almeida attacked from her home by installing a hidden camera in her own bathroom.

In addition, he admitted to making indecent symbols of the children. A child is victimized not only when an indecent symbol is taken, but also noticeable or shared.

“Protecting other young people from harm is one of our most sensitive priorities and we will continue to work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.
