Microsoft recently released an internal edition of Windows 11 that includes a search box right in the middle of the desktop. The feature is part of an effort by the company to view “interactive content on the Windows desktop,” as stated in the official blog post about build 25120.
While Windows 11 has a widget panel, it’s hidden on the side. It’s not hard to access, but it’s not in the foreground like having content directly on the desktop. After seeing the experimental search area, we would like to know if you need widgets on the desktop.
Based on previous leaks and rumors, Microsoft may just open up the Microsoft Store to third-party widgets. Perhaps the tech giant would go a step further and allow those widgets to appear on the desktop. to the panel while reserving the desktop for express proprietary options, such as a search box.
But this week’s vote is intended to speculate on Microsoft’s plans; this is to let us know if you need desktop widgets in Windows 11.
