The Helsel Hardware building was sold and its contents will be auctioned in December.
The building at 225 W. Plank Road was purchased through Stuckey Automotive. While long-term plans for construction have yet to be determined, “we will integrate it in some way with our neighboring Buick GMC dealership,” President Matt Stuckey said.
At the same time, an auction of the contents of the hardware store will be held on the afternoon of December 7 through Colonel K. R. Miller Jr.
According to an announcement, the auction will include “the remaining content from 3 generations. “
Some of the parts for sale come with snow blowers, containers containing iron and plastic fittings, a giant amount of paint, plumbing and electrical supplies, all kinds of hardware supplies, a pipe threading device and a vise, a giant amount of lawn mower supplies, a paint stirrer and blender and many other parts.
Helsel Hardware, founded in 1950 by J. W. ” Buck Helsel closed its doors on Nov. 30, 2017, after promoting its Polaris dealership to Duncansville-based Five Star Powersports, said owner Roy “Buck” Leister Jr. , the founder’s grandson.
