Strikes continue at several Amazon locations across the country, in the busiest food shopping season of the year. The strikers, members of the Teamsters union, do not see the popularity of their union, as well as greater work situations and higher salaries, easy.
An Amazon spokesperson said the Teamsters union “intentionally misleads the public by claiming that they constitute ‘thousands of Amazon workers and drivers. ‘”That’s not the case. “
Host Lisa Mullins speaks with Randy Korgan, the Teamsters’ national director for Amazon, about this allegation and why they are on strike.
Editor’s note: Amazon is among NPR’s recent financial supporters.
