An organization created for the Battle of Stockton became concerned in its own battle with Facebook, after its page was removed from the social media giant’s platform.

Nearly 90 years ago, a lot of armed protesters drove an invading crowd of black shirts from Oswald Mosley out of the city.

That’s the day Stockton resisted the fascists.

The Battle of Stockton crusade to capture the bloody occasions of the day, however, his Facebook page has disappeared.

A Facebook spokesperson said the page was lately under investigation.

The organization claims that social media deleted an article about the British Union of Fascists, probably as a component of an automated massacre, because it included a photo of prominent trade union leader Oswald Mosley.

“We appealed the ruling and about a week later the directors won a notification that the message had been reinstated with an apology for making a mistake,” said Sharon Bailey, president of boS.

But the page “wasn’t published,” he said, meaning “Facebook had deleted the entire page.”

She says the group’s administrators appealed the decision, but a week later the page has still been restored.

“Administrators can no longer see the page,” Sharon says.

“BoS can no longer with the more than 1,500 people who followed the page.

“The non-publication of the page came just as BoS was making plans to release its official membership, allowing supporters to be paid members of the campaign.

“This had to be postponed until further notice.”

BoS says he contacted Facebook and had no answer.

The crusade began with the launch of a Facebook page in August 2017, Sharon said.

She says BoS used the page to “inform the public about the ancient occasions of the Battle of Stockton and the history of anti-fascistism in the UK and abroad, as well as to announce the occasions, meetings and fundraising of the campaign.”

Sharon added: “The closure of our Facebook page has affected the campaign.

“Due to the existing Covid-19 pandemic, our annual memorial birthday party takes place almost this year on September 6.

“We have donations for the continuation of our commemorative occasion and other projects, we were about to launch the club on the Battle of Stockton crusade for our Facebook followers.

“We have tried several times to correct this challenge and touch Facebook without success.

“We are still waiting for one and we hope that this factor can be resolved quickly.”
