SpaceX launched the first communications satellite produced in Turkey into orbit (July 8).
A Falcon 9 rocket introduced the Turksat 6A spacecraft from the Cape Canaveral Space Station in Florida at 7:30 p. m. today. EDT (23:30 GMT).
The Falcon 9’s first tier returned to Earth shortly after, as planned. It landed about 8. 5 minutes after SpaceX’s Just Read the Instructions drone took off, parked in the Atlantic Ocean.
This is the 15th launch and landing of this specific booster, according to a SpaceX mission description.
Meanwhile, the rocket level continued to bring Turksat 6A into a geosynchronous motion orbit, deploying the spacecraft there 35. 5 minutes after liftoff as planned.
Turksat 6A will then make its way to its final orbit, where it will go through a series of checks that will last about a month before entering service, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, told the Hürriyet Daily News.
