SpaceX’s Polaris Dawn project will release American billionaire Jared Isaacman and three others on a five-day flight to attempt the world’s first personal spacewalk. The project is the first of three space flights in the Polaris program with SpaceX and is currently funded through Isaacman.
The launch of the Polaris Dawn project is scheduled for Aug. 26 at 3:38 a. m. EDT (0738 GMT), a four-hour launch window. It will fly on a Falcon nine rocket and the Crew Dragon Resilience capsule, making its third flight. Isaacman will act as project commander; with the Lieutenant Colonel (retired) of the U. S. Air Force. U. S. Scott “Kidd” Poteet as a pilot; Sarah Gillis, SpaceX’s senior area operations engineer for astronaut training, as project specialist; and Anna Menon, SpaceX’s lead operations engineer for the team’s operations development, as project specialist and medical.
