Elon Musk says he’s ‘aiming for it to be super fun’
SpaceX has launched a task that will offer a “hotel progression director” to monitor the progression of a luxury spaceport in Texas from which humans will one day arrive on Mars.
The facility will be serviced through the company’s Starship spacecraft, which effectively completed a flight earlier this month.
The 150-meter “jump” of the Starship SN5 prototype demonstrated its launch and contact capabilities, and long-term versions are expected to bring up to a hundred more people around the solar system.

“SpaceX is committed to developing revolutionary area technology, with the ultimate goal of allowing others to live on other planets,” the announcement of the task said.
“Boca Chica Village is our latest launch committed to Starship, our next-generation launch. SpaceX is committed to making this city a 21st century spaceport.”
The responsibilities of the position come with the management of the design, architecture and structure of the project, as well as with the supervision of the progression of the station “from start to completion”.
The candidate must also have “delighted work for the progression of high-end luxury brands”.
Following the task’s offer, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk tweeted, “Try to make it super fun!”
Musk has stated his preference for traveling to Mars and even claims he will need to die there someday.
The 49-year-old billionaire said in June that the construction of spacecraft is SpaceX’s “absolute priority,” having expressed fear that humans will not succeed on Mars during their lifetime.
“What worries me most right now is that unless we have in particular our innovation rate, there’s no chance of having a moon base or a city on Mars,” he said at the Satellite 2020 convention in March.
“That’s my biggest concern. We want our innovation rate or, based on trends beyond, I’ll definitely be dead by March.”
The first Starship missions can begin as early as 2024, according to Musk, no constant date has been set for a holiday on Mars.
The giant rocket will first be used to send others to the moon, while launching passengers among other places on Earth at hypersonic speeds is also a possibility.
