SpaceX launches Maxar 1 project from Vandenberg Space Force Base

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – SpaceX has launched its Maxar 1 project into orbit from the Space Launch Complex East (SLC-E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base.

The launch began Thursday around 11:36 a. m.

SpaceX said that about 8 minutes after liftoff, the first level of the Falcon 9 landed in a landing zone in Vandenberg, so it was imaginable that citizens of Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties would hear one or more sonic booms during landing. But which citizens enjoy depends on the weather and other conditions.
