Although the full list of the team’s games is known until the time the last normal season ends, the configuration of those competitions becomes critical to that team’s success.
For young groups looking to locate their place, it’s helping to have some games that can be won early. The Jets, for example, would have benefited from facing the Jaguars, Bears and/or Lions in the first month of the season. Instead, prospects May not come long after the Jets have evolved, or not, as an applicable team.
The Jets began with a full AFC North tour, facing the Ravens, Browns, Bengals and Steelers. (Not very well, Bob. )
It doesn’t get any easier. Then come the Dolphins, Packers, Broncos, Patriots and Bills.
The Jets will actually be the losers in those nine games, unless they score enough early agitation to adjust perceptions and/or betting trends. With a week 10 break, they may limp at the break with a very bad record.
Easy games, if some NFL games are easy, land after the week 10 break. Bears in week 12. Vikings in week 13, if they are not very smart this year (no one knows at this time). Lions in Week 15. Jaguars in Week 16. Seahawks in Week 17, if they’re not very smart this year (no one knows at this point).
The Jets would have liked to have had some of those games in September. Checking a few boxes in the first 4 weeks makes it less difficult to build confidence and momentum.
It’s true that the Jets aren’t satisfied with the schedule. They will never admit it, and neither will they. They landed them. Your only option is to make a bird salad.
Aside from the Bengals, Packers and Bills, none of those other groups are guaranteed to be even good. . . either way, the Jets are still a year away from being above Array500.
They play a 4th position schedule, which is as forgiving as one can ask.
Everyone hears that the Jets are a giant and that they will go to the league after “stealing the draft. “
Mortifying.
Jets no longer exist from gogó boots and miniskirts.
All games are for the Jets.
Is the AFC North so good? The Bengals, of course. But the Browns could (probably?) not have Watson. The Steelers will have a rookie or Mitch Trubisky with many of the same question marks on the O line that they had last year. And the Ravens are a great Jekyll/Hyde Team. Fans may not like it, but the Jets are still building. Even if Zach Wilson doesn’t suck, they would get far more advantages from a top-5 pick in the draft than from nearly Array500.
The timetable managers also did not do a service to the holders of subscriptions. . . many of us live within three hundred miles or more of “our team” and vacation on Mondays, Fridays, etc. necessary to get to and from the host city.
Shoot the Jets that come out smelling like roses, whether it’s their second-year QB and leads the offense, or the Jets come out to Caleb’s draft next year, what’s wrong with that?
It’s the NFL you play that you play that you play.
For example, getting Steelers and Browns in September is later in the year.
Getting the browns means seeing a backup qb, as well as the Steelers starting a new qb.
Hell, I would have the worst September because those first 3 weeks see a lot of groups struggling while adjusting to genuine games at one hundred percent speed for 3 hours.
The Jets front didn’t do the Jets any favors by landing a bust in QB.
Do other people who live three hundred miles from their favorite team’s stadium buy subscriptions? In the New York area, that’s at least a 12-hour drive to and from the game. What a colossal waste of time for 8 of your weekends.
Zach Wilson, a rookie with an OF recruit. call a bus. . . Disclaimer I think Sam Darnold is going to be good
all those reviews are based on the opponent’s 2021 season-ending version. Some groups that we think will be smart may not be. Some groups that we think will be bad may not be. If the OL Jets are healthy all season, this team won’t be outplayed in 194 problems in 17 games. This number will be reduced by 70%.
