Just when you thought you might catch your breath after CES 2025, Samsung is gearing up for a major tech reveal at today’s Galaxy Unpacked 2025.
For its first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year, Samsung will unveil a first look at its new flagship mobile devices and a host of new AI features.
Of course, the highlight of the occasion will be the launch of the Galaxy S25 series. Expect a trio of smartphones: the Galaxy S25, S25, and S25 Ultra. While the design will most likely remain familiar with rounded edges, the biggest innovations lie under the hood.
The S25 Ultra is rumored to receive a slight makeover, with a larger 6. 9-inch display and an improved 50MP ultrawide camera. Perhaps the most compelling upgrade is what powers these devices: Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, designed for generative AI.
This means we may see some major AI-based features that Samsung hasn’t revealed yet.
Along with the new hardware, Samsung will most likely officially unveil One UI 7 at Galaxy Unpacked. Already in beta, this updated edition of Samsung’s traditional Android interface promises a more intuitive experience, with a modified notification formula and AI improvements. Samsung praises the One UI 7 as the “first built-in AI platform” and, along with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, expects to see new AI-based features that can really set the S25 series apart.
Following the trend of agentic AI, rumors even point to a Samsung “AI agent” that will offer personalized recommendations across a range of categories, from fashion to transportation.
We’re just over 3 hours away from the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked and time is running out for a pre-order to be offered now on Samsung. com.
From now until 1 p. m. ET, whoever reserves a Samsung Galaxy Unpacked will receive:
$50 Samsung Credit
Up to $1,250 in additional savings
A chance to win $5,000 in Samsung Credit
The credits would be redeemed on Samsung. com and the Samsung Shop app.
The Galaxy S25 series will bring a big AI-based update to its lineup, adding the long-awaited One UI 7 version that will push the upgrade to Galaxy AI.
But a leak reported via Neowin suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra’s S Pen may also lose Bluetooth functionality. The downgrade means that gestures and remote control may no longer work on the device.
This leak has not been confirmed, but we’re only a few short hours from knowing for certain.
Samsung is reportedly developing a set of XR glasses in partnership with Google and Qualcomm under the name Project Moohan. The XR glasses are expected to use the Android XR operating system.
Although the device is rumored to launch in 2025, it’s unclear if Samsung will have anything it can show off at today’s Unpacked event.

While we’re just hours away from the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S25 phones, a new leak hints at a pre-order bonus.
If the rumors are true, Samsung will offer double the storage size of phones preordered between Jan. 22 through Feb. 6 for the same price, according to Dealabs.
That would mean you could get a 512GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S25 for the same price as the 256GB version, the site claims.
A vital caveat in this regard is that this leak involved specific EU agreements. It is not clear at the moment whether the special offer will also reach the US market. But you may not have to wait long to find out!
Samsung enthusiasts are getting more than just new phones today – the One UI 7 is shown to launch alongside the Galaxy S25 series.
The operating formula is available in beta on S24 phones from December 5, 2024, providing more personalization, call transcriptions, and a wide variety of new Galaxy AI features.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked kicks off at 1pm ET. You can watch the livestream on YouTube or on Samsung’s website.
Expect largely iterative updates to the Samsung S25 line of phones and plenty of new features for Galaxy AI. For example, a recent leak exposed a feature called Insights, which provides users with a daily report when they wake up, adding news, weather and fitness data.
