All models use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, and Samsung says it offers a 40% functionality improvement in NPU, 37% CPU and 30% GPU over the last generation, resulting in an improvement of around 18% in frames consistent with second. game. There will also be a new heat dissipation formula with a 40% larger vapor chamber and improved thermal interface material. Battery life still varies, but Samsung claims 31 hours of video viewing from its 5,000 mAh battery and more effective power consumption. The S25 also uses Corning Gorilla Armor 2 for the phone and provides added durability.
Samsung’s new One UI 7 AI assistant took up a significant chunk of the presentation – it’s the next generation of its mobile AI ecosystem built into several functions on Galaxy phones. They’re also powered with Google’s Gemini 2.0 AI engine. While it’s geared to be more efficient and easier to use, like pressing one button on the side of the phone to communicate with any AI function, what stood out is how Samsung stressed securing your personal data. Your personal data is secured with Knox Vault as opposed to storing it in the cloud. Samsung also showcased generative AI features like photo editing, suggestions with writing, among other features.
You can check all the finer details of the upcoming Galaxy S25 series on Samsung’s website, and you can catch up on the Galaxy Unpacked event by watching the live presentation. You can also get hands-on impressions of the Galaxy S25 from our colleagues at CNET.

Went from an S8 to an S21 Ultra after 3 years, probably gonna upgrade to either the S25 or S26 Ultra depending on how I feel later this year. We really are getting to a point where phones are good for longer periods of time, I wouldn’t be at all shocked if my next phone lasts me 6-8 years (provided the longer-term software updates don’t bog things down too severely).
All versions have a 5,000 mAh battery?. . . No thanks, especially since maximum Samsung apps are power-hungry, even if they are “more efficient” as they claim.
Just compared my S24+ with the S25+ and it looks like I’ll be saving myself some cash by not exchanging it. All the hardware is the same, with a minor size difference. Looks like the only upgrade this year is AI related.
Meh. My S21 is working just fine.
Unless I have to upgrade, my S10 and I will be driving together for the long haul.
My S10 has been divine but it’s time to update it
I find it appealing how phones are now advertised through their backs and cameras.
That said, if I could go back to a quality phone and my Palm m515 PDA like 20 years ago, I would. Or even a Palm Treo 755p with the old Palm OS.
The fact that they track everything you make and then sell it bothers me greatly.
My Nubia Redmagic 10 Pro already does all this and was half the price.
All you have to do is remove the SIM card slot and load the micro SD card slot. We know it is possible. The shift towards virtual SIMs is already underway. I have an S20 Ultra, but I want to keep my microSD card. I want to upgrade the battery and screen in a year or two, but it still works pretty well.
I love my S22 Ultra.
So they did the ultra generic?
Still rockin my Note 20 ultra and probly will for a couple more years
Xiaomi has a 7,500 mAh battery on the way. . . that Samsung’s still 5,000 mAh is a main flaw.
S20, S22U now S24U, but there’s not much difference from my S22U other than a damn smart camera, I’ll probably skip this one for a year or two for sure
It’s even more boring than the iPhone 16 ad. What a boring panel and this AI on a shitty phone just won’t load. Excellent in terms of battery life, but the rest looks like the same old shit. Both Samsung and Apple want to step up their efforts in innovation, design, and “style. “Look at what telephones like the RedMagic do: they make a regular panel phone look cool or at least interesting. Either way, either is being demolished through the Chinese smartphone market.
Get an iPhone.
iOS > Android
Samsungs are idiots.
