(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, May 24, 2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Rolls-Royce today announced that foreign infrastructure leader Balfour Beatty will be its non-fissile fabric partner for the entire expansion of its Raynesway site.
In June last year, it announced that Rolls-Royce would double the length of its submarine site in Derby to meet growing demand from the Royal Navy, and following last year’s AUKUS announcement.
In March this year, it showed that Australia had committed £2. 4 billion over ten years to the UK’s SSN-AUKUS programme, representing a proportional contribution to improving the infrastructure of Rolls-Royce submarines, as well as a fair contribution to the ship’s design-related prices.
The in-demand structure will result in the new production and services structure and create 1,170 professional positions in a variety of disciplines, adding production and engineering. Balfour Beatty will be responsible for structuring the new facilities and adjacent site infrastructure.
