Rogerwilco’s contribution to the Drupal community

Modules are these bits of code that augment Drupal’s capabilities. There are modules to add ecommerce features, image manipulation, and GDPR compliance, just to name a few use cases. They drive the evolution of features (by creating new ones), and they’re freely available to any developer who needs them.

We are strongly in community. We know that our company would not be where it is today without the collaborative spirit of the Drupal community. We have already contributed two modules to this community. We make sure they’re up to date, work with the latest versions of Drupal, and add new features as needed. Customers don’t pay us to do this, but it’s anything we’re obligated to do in the spirit of Ubuntu.

Our first module focuses on social media integration. Just Another Social Module (JASM) allows percentages of content on any social platform of your choice. We’ve all discovered a particularly engaging video or blog and hit the percentage button. A module like JASM makes things less difficult on both the front-end and back-end of the website. JASM is a one-stop-shop for developers to temporarily integrate undeniable social publishing technologies into their site.

Andre Ellis, one of our Senior Full Stack Developers, was motivated to start running this module after struggling with existing social modules. “We were tired of complex social modules, so it was time to create something less difficult to use. “.

Ellis joined through his co-leader, Ashraf Omar, a senior back-end developer who contributed to JASM, but who also dedicated his time to a module for the time being.

Many of us use emojis on a daily basis. These little yellow icons have substitutes for pretty big (and small, too) feelings. Ashraf’s module better integrates emoji functionality into CKEditor 5. Ashraf is passionate about this module and the contribution it brings to overall usability. “Emojis are very popular and I thought it would be a no-brainer to simplify developers’ access to those features. This improves the user experience, but it also adds a bit of laughter to the content you’re posting.

While these are our primary modules, we regularly contribute to the many other modules listed on Drupal.org.

Yes, there are many such modules out there, but we like to think ours are the best. We’re proud to contribute to this code and we’re especially proud of our developers who take the time (often after hours) to join a network of wise people who help make internet sites easier to use for both developers and end users.
