Rivian Goes All Out For Halloween With ‘Spooky’ Software Update

Last week, Rivian started preparing its EVs for Halloween.

For the first time, the U.S.-based EV startup is offering Car Costumes along with other tricks on its native software system for its R1T and R1S electric truck and SUV. Only available while the vehicle is parked, costume choices include: K.I.T.T. from the 1982 Knight Rider series, the Time Machine from the 1985 film Back to the Future and a classic Haunted Rivian.

Last year and in 2022, Rivian introduced a Halloween mode with lousy lighting, pumpkin and witch demonstrating graphics, and Dracula’s music and scary crow and owl sounds.

The costumes should thank an update on the Rivian cell application that transforms the internal screen and the soft outdoor, as well as the audio characteristics.
