VGChartz methodology: Hardware estimates are based on samples and retail trends in each country, which are then extrapolated to constitute the broader region. This allows us to produce figures that are less than 10% of the actual totals.

This knowledge is compared to the official shipping figures published through the console brands and the estimated figures through regional trackers with a higher market policy than ours. We then update our own estimates to fit those numbers. This can lead to common changes, occasionally in a short period of time. time, but we believe it’s vital to prioritize accuracy over consistency.

Please note that our estimates are based on knowledge of sales (units sold to consumers). In almost all cases, the figures published through console brands are based on sales knowledge, where as soon as a device leaves the factory and enters the source chain for delivery, it is considered a sale. That’s why there’s a difference between corporate numbers (sales) and VGChartz estimates (direct sales), even after adjustments. The only exception to this is when a console has been discontinued and the remaining inventory is depleted; At that point, the numbers will match.

Those are some awful numbers for Xbox. Sold less than half that of the seven year old Switch. Ouch!

Well, the Xbox is now more service-oriented, so I’m not surprised.

The Switch has managed to stay close to the PS5, but the fact that the PS5 and Xbox series are below their predecessor is a bit surprising. As it turns out, many other people took advantage of Black Friday sales.

Uncle Sam blew up the nordstream pipeline so europeans need their entire paycheck for energy..

What?

Foreign Affairs.

The PS5 experienced problems in its first two years that hit Europe hard. It previously stabilized in the United States.

This year, all of Sony’s promotions took place almost in November. Once the old style was sold out, there were no more promotions for the narrow ones. That’s why they went from a $460,000 oversell on the PS4 in November to a $640,000 drop in December.

Compared to the main competition, it was better than the PS4.

Nice damage control.

PS and Xbox appear near the December Europe article, but why is the Switch so inferior? Are the estimates for the UK and Germany that bad?
