A heartbroken Prince Charles photographed watching the devastation created by derailment in images shared through his workplace at Clarence House this morning. The prince’s team wrote on Twitter: “The Duke of Rothesay visited the site of the derailment of the exercise at Stonehaven, where he thanked the first responders at the scene of the incident on Wednesday. HRH spoke to the emergency services, adding the Scottish Ambulance Service. Scotland police. “
The Prince of Wales, known as the Duke of Rothesay when he was in Scotland, arrived at the site before the day.
He followed the sincere message shared through the Queen after the incident, which injured three other people and injured six others.
The Queen, who settled in an apartment at Balmoral Castle in early August, wrote: “With wonderful sadness I learned of the derailment of the previous exercise today in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire.
“The Duke of Edinburgh and the entire royal circle of relatives join me in sending our minds and prayers to the families of those who died and those who were injured.”
This brief message of condolence addressed to the Lord Lieutenant of Kincardineshire.
