John Rainsforth’s stunning images of South Shields Customs, which were taken during the closure of the coronavirus, can now be purchased online, and sales proceeds will go to the theater’s charity trust.
John, 30, who regularly works as a theatrical lighting designer and street lighting manager for musicals, developed his photographic skills during lockdown and took photographs of The Customs House as a daily walk.
He told the Gazette: “Customs has allowed me to evolve in my career as a designer and has a special position in my heart. I was thinking of tactics to help and it was only when Jordan Embleton of Photo through Jordan, also a technical manager of Customs, contacted me to offer me printing services.
“Selling my photographs is never something I can think of that I would do, but I have the idea that if you can bring something to customs, why not?”
There are 3 collection budgets for customs – one in black and white and two in color appearing other views.
All 10 euros and once the print payment and PayPal commission are deducted, 7.41 euros corresponding to the draw are donated to the charity of the theater.
A4 copies of the John’s Theatre can be purchased here, and all winnings will go to the Customs House Theatre Trust.
