As anticipation for EA Sports College Football 25 continues to grow, enthusiasts were mocked on Friday after the cover of the game’s deluxe edition was released on PlayStation Store.
The canopy features a collection of high school football’s biggest stars, including Michigan’s Donovan Edwards, Colorado’s Travis Hunter, Texas’ Quinn Ewers and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, emerging from a tunnel in a crowded stadium.

EA Sports announced on Friday that the covers of the game’s versions will be officially released on May 16:

Here’s the only description of the game on the PlayStation Store website: “In EA SPORTS™ College Football 25, revel in a variety of explosive gameplay across 134 FBS schools and immerse yourself in the iconic atmospheres of school football as you strive for school greatness. “
When the NCAA followed name, picture, and likeness regulations in 2021, it opened the door for the return of EA Sports’ school football series. The game was discontinued after the release of NCAA Football 14 in July 2013.

It took another two years before EA Sports reached an agreement for FBS players to participate in the game. The developer released an official teaser trailer in February, adding that a full reveal would be in May.

The official release date will most likely be announced in the full reveal. Previous versions of the game were released between early to mid-July.
EA Sports opened the procedure for players to register and submit their symbol to the game on February 22. Players who sign up get $600 and a copy of the game.
More than 12,300 FBS had been registered as of April 17.
