Los Angeles Clippers gunbasen Patrick Beverley ruled Wednesday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks due to a détente in the left calf, Doc Rivers announced before Game 2.
Rivers said he “had no idea” of how long Beverley’s absence would last:

Beverley’s first game on Monday, posting 8 numbers and five rebounds in 20 minutes of action.
The veteran played a role at both ends of the area for the Clippers, attracting some of the team’s toughest defensive clashes while facilitating an offense featuring two dominant ball masters, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
Beverley’s defeat comes at a time when L.A. is closer to his first name in the NBA than ever after securing a place in the playoffs before the league was interrupted in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 32-year-old has averaged 7.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists consistent with this season.
Fortunately for the Clippers, the intensity of their rear area remained one of their strengths. Behind Beverley are Reggie Jackson, Lou Williams, Terance Mann and Landry Shamet.
Williams and Jackson in specific are well prepared to take care of Beverley’s minutes in his absence. The first is a three-time winner of the sixth player of the year, while the second has led offenses in Oklahoma City and Detroit in his career.
The Clippers signed Jackson in February shortly after the Pistons redeemed their contract. It was a smart decision to make sure the club was even more intense as the season progressed.
You may now have to pay more dividends than expected.
