DG Khan Cement is in the process of building a 10 MW waste heat recovery plant and a 30 MW coal power plant, which is expected to start generating electricity in December 2020 and March 2021 respectively.
According to a corporate statement, these two force-generating services will allow Baluchistan to be completely autonomous. The Balochistan plant is Pakistan’s largest cement production and has a constant capacity of 10,000 tons per day.

The hardware supplied includes low and medium voltage equipment, special dry-type transformers and speed drives. Power meters and sensors will help provide data to the operations team on equipment performance. Uninterruptible power supply devices will provide backup power. All of the hardware is Internet-of-Things enabled and will share essential information about energy usage and efficiency levels.
EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert (SME) software will be used to help maximize installation availability and operational power by maximizing operational lifecycle power by using synthetic intelligence to design power consumption.
The company thanked EcoStruxure’s asset advisor, as the plant’s appliances will be monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through Schneider Electric’s connected hub, and the control will be able to see the knowledge of the functionality and the recommended movements through an app on your phone. Any disorder will be reported without delay and will be corrected on the spot.
