Orbea has just introduced two new electric motorcycles, the Kemen and the Kemen SUV, designed to have perfect compatibility with life and offer an escape when needed. Joining the Vibe, Katu and Optima in their diversity of urban electric motorcycles, the Kemen and Kemen SUVs are two variants of an all-purpose trekking bike, the former is designed to propel itself on city streets and the timing is provided to carry goods.
When designing the new Kemen range, the Basque logo said it sought to bring a smart solution with generation to an off-road device while saving weight and providing efficiency. In addition to the Shimano EP8 engine around which the bikes are built, both Kemen models are supplied with Orbea’s exclusive 540 Wh battery discovered in the award-winning Rise model. It also comes with its own smart evaluator, which according to Orbea will increase battery life by up to 30%, as it adjusts the charging force based on points such as temperature, mobile status or the number of rate cycles already consumed. This, according to Orbea, prevents the “overload” of the battery and optimizes its use.
Although the battery is removable, Orbea claims that its complete integration into the lower tube reduces the overall weight of the bike and improves the rigidity of the frame, which translates into greater and lesser difficulty in handling the bike.
Orbea says the Kemen’s battery setup is so effective that it provides up to five hours of pedaling. If more force is needed, there is also a diversity extender that can be had separately, which can be fixed on the chassis and would load 252 Wh more. .
Kemen’s aluminum frame is hydroformed and uses triple-thickness tubes, while the logo claims to have perfected the wall thickness at specific points on the frame to reduce weight where it is not needed, as well as maximum maximum spaces likely to enjoy stress. .
The Kemen and Kemen SUV styles come in two frame options: the more sensitive bar, which has a more classic horizontally sensitive tube, and the medium-sized bar, which has a more responsive more shifted tube. According to Orbea, the Top Bar styling for Kemen and Kemen SUV is designed to offer maximum frame stiffness to better handle the most rugged trails with heavy weight. One of the main things Orbea prides itself on when it comes to Kemen’s new diversity is what it calls its “cutting-edge technologies aimed at simplifying design and removing unnecessary weight from the entire bike. “This includes not only the integrated battery and its resulting thinner design, but also its integration of the handlebar cable. All brake and demonstration cables and cables are routed internally through the handlebar and stem cover.
Both models are gently supplied with built-in front and rear lights, the latter supposedly emit more brightness when braking, to communicate the driver’s movements to drivers. In addition to this, there is a projector that is controlled from the handlebars.
The Kemen diversity comes with the Shimano Link Glide transmission, designed in particular for electric bike transmissions, and is meant to offer a sleek shift that can cope with the stresses generated by the motors.
